Christine C. Phillips, 65, of River Street, Forty Fort, died Friday at
Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.
   
Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of Victoria Chillock, a guest at
Valley Crest, Wilkes-Barre Township, and the late Edward Chillock. She
graduated from Luzerne High School. She worked as a sales associate for Hess
and Bon Ton Department Stores. She was a member of the Forty Fort United
Methodist Church and was former president of the Luzerne County Republican
Women Organization. She was also a former chairwoman and was the first woman
elected to the Forty Fort Council. She was founder and past president of the
Forty Fort Historical Commission.
    Surviving in addition to her mother are her husband of 46 years, E. James;
sons, Bruce, Dallas; John, Forty Fort; daughter, Katharyn Phillips Allen,
Texas; sister, Carol Chillock, Lindenwold, N.J.
   
Private funeral services will be at the convenience of the family at the
Hugh B. Hughes & Son, Inc., Funeral Home, 1044 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort.
Interment will be in Memorial Shrine Cemetery, Carverton section of Kingston
Township.
   
Friends may call from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
   
Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
