Dr. Drew J. Stetz, 48, of State College, died Thursday, March 6, 2003 in
Patton Township, State College, Pa., as a result of a motor vehicle accident.
Born Nov. 3, 1954, in Kingston, he was a son of Andrew and Helen Mitchell
Stetz of Kingston, former owner of Stetz Clothing. On Sept. 13, 1980, he
married Carol A. Drozda, who survives at home. He was a 1976 graduate of
King’s College and a 1980 graduate of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic
Medicine. He completed his internship at Allentown Osteopathic Hospital and
his residency at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. He was a Board
Certified Diplomate of the American Academy of Otolaryngology and Head and
Neck Surgery with the Geisinger Medical Group, State College.
He was a member of the Good Shepherd Catholic Church. He was a member of
the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association and enjoyed hunting, fishing,
skiing, travel and Penn State athletics.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by three daughters,
Lauren
M., a freshman at Penn State; Kathryn A., a junior at State College High
School; and Julianne E. “Julie”, a freshman at State College High School; a
sister, Cindy Stetz of Ashley; an aunt, Dr. Irene Mitchell, Professor at East
Stroudsburg University; his mother-in-law, Stella Drozda; a brother-in-law,
Bill Drozda; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joseph and Elaine Lacina; a
niece, Allison Lacina; and a nephew, Andrew Lacina.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday at the Good Shepherd
Catholic Church, 867 Gray’s Woods Blvd., State College. The Funeral Mass will
be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church with the
Rev. Philip M. Bender officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery,
Hanover Township.
Friends may call at the Chapel of St. Mary’s Cemetery on Tuesday from 1 to
2 p.m.
