Katherine Hills

    Katherine C. Hills, 94, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., and formerly of Forty Fort,
died Thursday at Forest Manor, Northport, Ala.
   
Born July 12, 1908, in Scranton, she was a daughter of the late Floyd and
Ann (Gerard) Smith. She graduated from Scranton Central High School and East
Stroudsburg Normal School. She was a member of Forty Fort Presbyterian Church,
where she was an active quilter. She was also Girl Scout leader, 4-H leader
and an avid gardener and crafter.
   
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; infant son, Robert;
sister, Ruth Mary Smith; and brother, Gerald Smith.
   
Surviving are her son, Frederick J., New Jersey; daughter, Katherine Marie
Groshong, Alabama; four grandchildren; a great-grandson; and sister, Esther
Tworsky, Tunkhannock.
   
Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday from the Harold C. Snowdon
Funeral Home, 420 Wyoming Ave., Kingston, with the Rev. William Lukish
officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Abington
Hills Cemetery, Clarks Summit.
   
Friends may call from 3 p.m. until service time Thursday.
   
Memorial donations may be made to the Girl Scouts of America.
