Ruth Caffrey

    Ruth Caffrey, 89, of Miner Street, Wilkes-Barre, died Friday at the Hospice
Community Care, Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.
   
Born Nov. 21, 1913, in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Giacamo
and Anna (Barbera) Stallone. She attended Coughlin High School. She worked as
a factory supervisor in the local garment industry. She was a member of St.
Therese’s Church, Wilkes-Barre; Senior Citizens Club and Rosary makers of St.
Therese’s Church.
   
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; daughter, Peggy Ducey;
great-grandson, Dustin Stone; great-granddaughter, Caroline Kloss; brothers,
Russell, Carlo, Angelo, John, Charles and Anthony; and sister, Vincentine.
   
Surviving are her daughters, Rosalie Hourigan, Wilkes-Barre; Jean Krzyston,
Delhi, N.Y.; Ann Caffrey-Berger, Wilkes-Barre; 10 grandchildren; 17
great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter.
   
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Monday from the Matthew T. Jacobs
Funeral Home 47 Old River Road, Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial
at 9:30 a.m. in St. Therese’s Church, with Monsignor Francis J. Callahan
officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township.
