HANOVER TWP.
   
New playground
    equipment purchased
   

   
Township commissioners on Monday approved the purchase of $52,236 worth of
new equipment for the Buttonwood, Green Street, Newtown and Lower Askam
playgrounds.
   
The equipment is being obtained on a state contract that is being paid for
by a county grant.
   
Specifically, three playmaker playstructures, 80 landscape timbers, 200
cubic yards of mulch and three glider benches will be purchased. The equipment
will be installed during the spring.
   
In other business, the commissioners:
   
Approved a payment of $185,166 to Joseph J. Joyce Insurance Inc. for
property and inland marine, general liability, automobile and workers’
compensation coverage.
   
Approved the installation of a streetlight pole on Ashley Street at the
intersection of Clifton Court, at a cost of $10.32 per month.
   
Approved fire department Station No. 2’s participation in the Ashley
Newtown Little League parade on April 26 and all fire departments’
participation in Memorial Day parades on May 26.
   
Approved $8,992.90 in tax abatements.
   
Authorized the township engineer to prepare a list of specifications for
the purchase of a used 1997 Johnson street sweeper.
