Donald Harvey

    Donald E. Harvey, 73, of RR 4, Meshoppen, died Tuesday at Tyler Memorial
Hospital, Tunkhannock.
   
Born Feb. 10, 1930, in Vosburg, he was a son of the late Russell and
Frances (Rowe) Harvey. He was a 1949 graduate of Tunkhannock High School and
was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving in Korea as an Airman 1st Class. He was
employed as a station agent for the Lehigh Valley Rail Road, as a milk
inspector for the DHIA and for the UHS office, Tunkhannock. He was a member of
the Meshoppen United Methodist Church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Endless
Mountains Post 3583, Mehoopany, the Rought Hall Post 510 American Legion,
Black Walnut.
   
He was preceded in death by daughter, Donna Smith; sister, Marion Growl and
brother, C. Percy Harvey.
   
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, the former Jeanette Gruver; daughters,
Eileen Harvey, Tobyhanna; Alice Madden, Lake Winola; Kay Serine, Meshoppen;
six grandchildren; brother, Russell, Hemlock, N.Y.; sisters, Ruth Spring,
Wyoming; Pauline Davis, Eleanor Milligan and Doris Colbenson, all of
Tunkhannock; and nieces and nephews.
   
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday from the Sheldon Funeral Home,
Main Street, Meshoppen, with the Rev. Dan Herron, officiating. Interment will
be in Sunnyside Cemetery, Tunkhannock, with military grave-side services to be
held by VFW Endless Mountains Post 3583 and Rought Hall Post 510 American
Legion.
   
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
   
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Meshoppen United
Methodist Church, c/o Jack Roberts, RR 2, Box 102A, Meshoppen.
