I’M CALLING ABOUT the kids from GAR who played in the basketball game. It
should never have gotten to where they were just saying it was the coaches
fault for playing them and the Wilkes-Barre School District for allowing it.
It all points to the parents. Where were the parents in this matter? In my
day, if I had done something like that, that would have been it. I would have
been grounded. My parents would never have let me go to the game at all to
begin with. The parents haven’t done nothing. They’re the ones at fault.

THIS IS TO Casey Jones’ article about Japan and NASCAR. I have to agree
with him 100 percent, he’s absolutely right. The day they put the Toyotas on
the starting grid is the day I quit being a race fan. That’s going to be very
hard because it’s the only sport I pay attention to at all.
GEORGIA, ST. BONAVENTURE, Villanova, Fresno State. What’s going on with
these college basketball programs? Is anybody in charge?

IT’S A SHAME how many deer have died from the severe winter, with more to
follow. The big losers will be the hunters who think they’re going to shoot a
huge buck next year and have been buffaloed by Gary Alt of the Game
Commission.

I HOPE DISTRICT 2 is on the bandwagon with other districts in their quest
to restructure the state wrestling weight classes. This experiment should be
over. Fourteen weights, especially for Double-A schools, is watering down the
talent level. Triple-A schools can handle the 14 weights, but Double-A schools
can’t. During the year, it was forfeit after forfeit, and it’s hurting the
wrestlers and the fans.
