I AM NEVER SURPRISED AT THE NONSENSE EMANATING FROM THE TYPEWRITER OF OUR
LOCAL SOCIALIST PROFESSOR. HOWEVER, TOM BIGLER’S COLUMN OF MARCH 2 WAS THE
GRANDADDY OF THEM ALL. GIVEN THE DISDAIN DOUBTING THOMAS HAS FOR PRESIDENT
BUSH, BIGLER OUTDID HIMSELF BY IMPLYING BUSH WOULD TAKE US BACK TO 1890 WHEN
10 PERCENT OF THE PEOPLE WERE WEALTHY AND TWO-THIRDS LIVED IN POVERTY. I AM
FAR FROM BEING WEALTHY, BUT I AM ALSO FAR FROM LIVING IN POVERTY. WHILE THERE
MAY BE SOME WHO ARE STRUGGLING, EVEN THE PROFESSOR MUST ADMIT THERE ARE VERY
FEW STARVING. IT IS APPARENT THAT THE ACUTE CASE OF INDIGESTION PLAGUING
BIGLER SINCE THE ELECTION OF PRESIDENT BUSH HAS WORSENED CONSIDERABLY IN THIS
WINTER OF HIS DISCONTENT. Ralph Rostock
