Harold Miles Bower, 76, of Taylor, died Wednesday at home.
   
Born Nov. 9, 1926, in Northumberland, he was a son of the late Miles and
Christabell (Graybill) Bower. He was a graduate of Mansfield High School and
was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, serving in the 35th Infantry
Regiment. He received the Purple Heart. He was employed by the Tobyhanna Army
depot. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7069, Clarks
Summit and the American Legion Post 948, Scranton. He was a member of the
Disabled American Veterans and the Moosic Presbyterian Church.
    He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Shirley Hannick; a
daughter, Susan Gordon; and sister, Mary Palmer.
   
Surviving are a son, Harold Jr., Waverly; daughter, Deborah A. Bauman,
Avoca; six grandchildren; brothers, John Bower, Mansfield; Miles Bower,
Corning, N.Y.; Harry Moyer, Texas; sisters, Ruth Payne, Williamsport; Gladys
Rogers, Williamsport; several nieces and nephews; and companion, Muriel Ward,
Old Forge.
   
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday from the Thomas P. Kearney
Funeral Home, 517 N. Main St., Old Forge, with the Rev. Dr. Susan J. Ezell,
officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
   
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday. The VFW Post 7069, Clarks Summit
will conduct services at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
