Ira Travelpiece

Ira J. Travelpiece, 77, of Wright Township, died Wednesday at home.
Born May 3, 1925, in Wapwallopen, he was a son of the late Raymond and Emma
(Brown) Travelpiece. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was
employed as a mechanic for Brockway Truck, Kingston and as a field engineer
for Mack truck, Allentown. He was a member of the Susquehanna Beagle Club,
Nescopeck.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Hazel Hess, Helen Remensnyder, Mabel
Hess, Ruth Bernhart and Dorothy Herring; and brothers, Gordon and Clark.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, the former R. Louise Smith; sister,
Lorraine Karchner, Sybertsville; nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and
nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday from the McCune Funeral Home,
80 S. Mountain Blvd., Mountain Top, with the Rev. Bruce J. Gallup,
officiating. Interment will be in Albert Cemetery, Wright Township.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
