If any thinking citizen read Mr. Tom Bigler’s opinions three recent weeks
in the Times Leader – I say if, because not everyone reads ultra-liberal pap –
must conclude where his sympathies lie. I quote from the Feb. 16 edition of
the Times Leader. Tom Bigler says, “How do you think Saddam Hussein must
~feel when this type of inspection goes on month after month, and even year
after year?”

We patriots who live in reality and are forever scarre~d by the terrorists’
attacks on 9/11 recognize that the U.S.A. is at war, and we do not care about
Saddam’s feelings, Tom. The goal is to defeat and obliterate terrorism
wherever it exists, despite the opinions of France, Germany, and Bigler.
Eighteen European nations expressed support for U.S. policy following
Secretary Powell’s cogent and def~initive presentation to the U.N. Security
Council; however, Mr. Bigler calls Secretary Powell’s indictment of Saddam
circumstantial. Bigler prefers us to wait until we have a smallpox epidemic
courtesy of Saddam, then maybe he would advocate a military response.

The work of the U.N. is fruitful and effective, according to Mr. Bigler. In
reality, the U.N. is a toothless tig~er. For example, the U.N. having passed
1441, now refuses to authorize war. This inaction will be a harbinger of
demise for the U.N., a la The League of Nations.

It appears that Mr. Bigler has sympathy for Saddam’s fascism, which makes
him a perfect candidate for an editorial position at Al Jazeera.
