WILKES-BARRE – Richard Macko of 93 Loomis St. has been hired as the city’s
dog catcher.
Macko fills the position first proposed by Mayor Tom McGroarty in October
2001. He will start work after five days of training at the National Animal
Control Association in Pittsburgh.
Macko, who will be paid $25,334 a year, will free up police officers who
respond to calls for animals on the loose.
