Gerald Mashinski

    Gerald M. Mashinski Sr., 69, of Wilkes Lane, Wilkes-Barre, died Wednesday
in the Inpatient Unit of Hospice Care of the VNA at the Heritage House,
Wilkes-Barre.
   
Born May 16, 1933, in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of the late John and Mary
(Butry) Mashinski. He was a 1951 graduate of Coughlin High School and was a
U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was employed at Atlas Chain and
Precision and later at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport. He was
a member of St. Nicholas Church, Wilkes-Barre.
   
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald.
   
Surviving are his wife of 49 years, the former Ann Kosek; sons, John, Erie;
Robert, Wilkes-Barre; Gerald M. Jr., at home; Charles, Waldorf, Md.; Peter,
Mechanicsburg; daughters, Diane Walsh, Pocono Lake; Susan Andersen,
Unityville; Kimberly Mashinski, Wilkes-Barre; 12 grandchildren; and nieces and
nephews.
   
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral
Home, Park Avenue and South Street, Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass at 9:30 a.m. at
St. Nicholas Church. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover
Township.
   
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
   
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association,
Wilkes-Barre.
