Area High School. A “mush ball” game will be held between faculty/coaches and
varsity players, along with a 50/50 drawing and raffle.

Exeter Lions Little League tryouts, 11 a.m. (softball) and 12:30 p.m.
(baseball) today, Wyoming Area High School. Those who need to attend will be
notified.
   
Kingston Baseball and Softball, Inc., tryouts Tuesday, 109th Field
Artillery Armory in Wilkes-Barre, for players moving up to minor league
(5-6:30 p.m.), Little League (6:15) or girls major league softball (5-6:15
p.m.). Players staying in those leagues do not need to attend. Those who would
like to register can do so prior to tryouts. New players must bring a copy of

Nanticoke Teener League, final sign-ups 2-4 p.m. today, Nanticoke American
Legion for children ages 13-16. Cost is $45 and new players must bring a copy
of their birth certificate.
   
Northeast Freestyle/Greco-Roman Wrestling Club sign-ups, 6-6:30 p.m.
Tuesday, Pittston Area High School gym, State Street, Yatesville. Practice
will begin immediately after sign-ups until 8:30. Practice sessions resume at
Pittston Area High School on March 25 and continue each Tuesday and Thursday
from 6:30-8:30 p.m. through the end of June. Cost is $145, which includes a
USA membership card. The club is in its 15th year and run by Pittston Area
coach Matt Giampietro. Guest clinicians, including former PIAA champions,
college wrestlers and other area coaches, will attend. Checks can be made

Plymouth Girls Softball, registration 1-2:30 p.m. today, Hose Company No.

Swoyersville Sailors Football and Cheerleading, 1-3 p.m., today, Roosevelt
Field, Church Street, Swoyersville, for children ages 6-13 residing in
Swoyersville, Luzerne, Courtdale and Pringle. Players should bring a copy of
their birth certificate and a recent photo. Fee is $35 per child or $45 per
family.
   
South Wilkes-Barre Little League, tryouts, March 22 at the Kistler School
Gym, Old River Road. Little League age 9-12 will tryout from 10 a.m. to noon;
Minor League age 7-8 will tryout from 1-3 p.m. Final registrations will be
taken from 9-10 a.m.
   
Dupont AA T-Ball will hold signups on Monday and Wednesday from 5:30-7 p.m.
at the VFW. Players between 4-6 years old are eligible.
   
Dupont AA Girls Softball will hold registration on Monday and Wednesday
from 5:30-7 p.m. at the VFW. Age groups are 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 17-and-under and
17-and-older. Fee is $20 for one player and $30 per family. Information: call

Third Annual Marcus LaBuda Memorial Golf Tournament, 11 a.m., July 27,
Edgewood in the Pines Golf Course, to benefit the Marcus LaBuda Scholarship
Foundation. Format is four-man scramble with a shotgun start. Cost is $60
person and includes dinner. Hole sponsorships are still available for $50.

16th Annual Wilkes-Barre Rotary Charities Golf Outing, to benefit
Wilkes-Barre Rotary Charities and the Osterhout Free Library, May 9, at Mill
Race Golf Course. Entry fee is $95 and includes lunch served at noon followed
by a 1 p.m. shotgun start and dinner at 6. Format is captain and crew and will
include longest drive and closest to the pin prizes, hole in one contests and
multiple winners in each flight. Flag sponsorships are available for $250, and
hole sponsorships are available for $100. Individual players are welcome and

Ronald McDonald House at Geisinger Golf Tournament, June 28, Sugarloaf
Golf Course. Four-person scramble is limited to 144 golfers. Registration
begins at 1 p.m. with a shotgun start at 2. Cost is $75 per person and
includes greens fee, cart, hot dog, snacks, soda, beer and a pig roast dinner.
Flighted prizes will be awarded to women’s and men’s teams and mixed teams.

Wright Township Police Officers Association Third Annual Golf Tournament,
May 17, Mountain Laurel Golf Club, White Haven. Registration begins at 11:45
a.m. with announcements at 12:50 p.m. Format is captain and crew with a 1 p.m.
shotgun start. Cost is $75 per golfer or $300 per foursome and includes green
fees, cart, gifts, buffet dinner, beverages and prizes. Space is limited. Make

GAR Soccer Booster Club is holding a Nite at the Races May 17 at St.
Patrick’s Church, Parish Street. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., post time is 7:30.
Tickets can be purchased through any soccer player or club member. There will
be free admission with the purchase of a horse. There is a meeting March 20 at
7 at Brenner’s All Star Cafe. Anyone interested in helping or sponsoring a
race is invited to attend.
   
Spring Basketball League, sponsored by Holy Trinity Church, Swoyersville,
for girls in the 7th grade, will begin play in late March at the former Regis
Academy gymnasium. Games will be played on Saturday mornings and early
afternoons. There are also a few spots available in the 6th grade girls Spring
