Could someone please explain this to me again? A methadone clinic helps
heroin addicts stop using heroin. The “clients” are monitored, tested and
counseled. At least that’s what I’ve read.

Two cars pull~ed next to each other in Wilkes-Barre and one guy shot
another guy, in the middle of traffic, in the middle of the day. And a couple
of times each week someone is arrested for having, using or selling heroin.
And, many criminals tell our judges that they’ve committed the crime to
support their habit. At least that’s what I’ve read.
Now this is where I start to get lost. Someone says they’re going to open a
methadone clinic, and our community leaders say they’re going to fight it
because it will cause trouble.

Wouldn’t trouble be more like daytime shootings, or arrests involving
heroin, or folks telling our judges that heroin is why they rob, cheat and
steal?

I’m sorry. I just don’t get it.
