Catherine Gansel

Catherine H. Gansel, 90, of Sterling, Va., and formerly of Claude Street,
Dallas, died Saturday in Leesburg, Va.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late George and Eva
(Kiefer) Hofmeister. She graduated from Coughlin High School. She was a member
of Dallas United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James; brother, George
Hofmeister; sisters, Barbara Oliver and Alberta Lancio.
Surviving are her sons, Fred K., Sterling, Va.; James, Point of Rocks, Md.;
daughter, Kay Shaw, Silver Spring, Md.; 10 grandchildren; and 13
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday from the Richard H. Disque
Funeral Home Inc., 672 Memorial Highway, Dallas, with the Rev. Robert Grove
officiating. Interment will be in Fern Knoll Burial Park, Dallas.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
