What: Kashi Heart To Heart Cereal

How much? $2.79-$3.99
Where can I buy? Most major grocers

Can you imagine? They put green tea in cereal now.

‘Twas my first thought upon beholding a box of Kashi’s new Heart to Heart
honey-toasted oat cereal, proudly bearing the seal of the American Heart
Association.

Here’s what the box told me: Heart to Heart has 100 percent of the
recommended daily allowance of Vitamins E, B6 and B12, 50 percent of the RDA
of Vitamin C and 25 percent of the RDA of Vitamin A, all good things, of
course. Now toss in green tea, grape-seed extract, folic acid (also 100
percent of the RDA) and a gram of soluble fiber per serving, and you have an
antioxidant-loaded cereal heading the pack of healthies.

But how does it taste? Quite nice, my co-workers and I agreed.

We especially loved the light honey-flavored coating, which zings up what
otherwise might be a smart but bland cereal. (And the cereal itself might look
rather stodgy, but you just have to love the sprinkling of little heart-shaped
bites among the sea of o-rings.)

Still, one co-worker, a professed fan of all things Kashi, says her
loyalties remain with the line’s GoLEAN Crunch! Cereal, a combination of soy
protein grahams, high-fiber twigs and the trademark Seven Whole Grains &
Sesame honey puffs with the addendum of granola.

Either way though, you really can’t go wrong with Kashi. Nothing like a
crunchy guilt-free breakfast or late-night snack to rationalize away those
chicken wings.
