Leroy Bonham

    Leroy Bonham Jr., 80, of Municipal Road, Shickshinny, died Sunday at
Hospice Care of the VNA, Inpatient Unit, Heritage House, Wilkes-Barre.
   
Born June 12, 1922, in Hunlock Creek, he was a son of the late Roy and Rena
(Harrison) Bonham. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked
for the UGI Corp., Hunlock Creek. He was a member of the Oakdale United
Methodist Church. He was a charter member of Hunlock Creek Volunteer Fire Co.,
where he also served on the board of trustees.
   
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Betty E. Warntz; son,
Darl; brothers, Elwood, Keith and Robert.
   
Surviving are his daughters, Nancy Ceppa, with whom he resided; Sharon
Pearson, Hunlock Creek; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
   
Military funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday from the Clarke
Piatt Funeral Home Inc., 6 Sunset Lake Road, Hunlock Creek, with the Rev. John
D. Erwine officiating. Interment with military services will be in Oakdale
Cemetery, Hunlock Creek.
   
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
