Arab-Israeli conflict
is focus of talks
An overview of the Arab-Israeli conflict will be presented at Penn State
Wilkes-Barre today and Wednesday. Martin W. Slann, director of academic
affairs, will outline the Arab view at noon today. Ziv Ben-Dov, instructor in
the arts and architecture department, will address the Israeli views at noon
Wednesday. The talks will be in the Science Building’s Bierly Auditorium. For

of talk at King’s
Margaret Monahan Hogan, associate professor of philosophy, King’s College,
and William Parente, professor of political science, University of Scranton,
will discuss “War with Iraq: Moral and Political Considerations” tomorrow at
King’s College. The discussion will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the McGowan
School of Business Burke Auditorium on North River Street.

Man who walked on
moon to give talk
One of the last men to walk on the moon, Harrison Schmitt, will share his
experiences as part of Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania’s Provost’s
Lecture Series on March 25 in the Kehr Union ballroom.
At 7:30 p.m., he will present “A Trip to the Moon and Beyond.” Schmitt
joined NASA in 1965 as one of the first scientist-astronauts. On Dec. 11,
1972, he landed in the Valley of Taurus-Littrow as the only scientist and the
last of 12 men to walk on the moon.

conversational Spanish skills. The workshop will be held at the Northeast

annual Tom Bigler High School Journalism Conference on April 11.
