Mary B. Mills, 84, of Taylor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and
formerly of the Austin Heights section of Old Forge, died Sunday at the VNA
Hospice Unit of Community Medical Center, Scranton.
Born Aug. 19, 1918, in Old Forge, she was a daughter of the late Marko and
Julia (Obzut) Bochniowich. She attended Old Forge schools. She worked for
Senta Styles, Scranton. She was a member of St. Michael’s Russian Orthodox
Church, Old Forge. She enjoyed watching baseball.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis; sisters, Irene Kenia,
Pauline Gavinis, Olga Witiak; and brother, Michael.
Surviving are her sons, Ronald, Moscow; James, Clarks Summit; daughter,
Melanie M. Barthold, Old Forge; seven grandchildren; brother, Andrew, Old
Forge; sister, Johanna Lawrence, Lansing, Mich.; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday from the Thomas P. Kearney
Funeral Home, 517 N. Main St., Old Forge, with a funeral service at 9:30 a.m.
in St. Michael’s Russian Orthodox Church, with the Very Rev. David Mahaffey,
Rector officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, with Parastas services at 8
p.m., with the Very Rev. David Mahaffey, Rector, officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to the Taylor Nursing and Rehabilitation
Center, Taylor.
