BOY, YOU REALLY shoved your liberal opinions down our throat with the Our
Opinion on the methadone clinic. You are very liberally biased paper in a lot
of ways, but that doesn’t mean that we here in the Valley don’t see what
happens when you take a lot of these handout programs and plop them in the
Valley. That’s what we are known for here now. We’re not known for industry,
creativity and development. We’re known for the giveaway valley, the cheese
line.
AS FAR AS the Cher tickets, I think the way to get everything under control
is to boycott concerts and promoters and let them feel the hurt for awhile.
You’ll find out the ticket prices will drop and then they’ll get people back
into concerts.
THERE WAS SOME talk in the paper about eliminating a magistrate position in
the area. They should eliminate all of them. How can a system work that these
magistrates are elected. If they find too many people in their neighborhood
guilty, they won’t get elected next time. So how could it be blind, how could
it be fair?
FIRST I’D LIKE to say that the French are cheese-eating surrender monkeys.
Next I’d like to say that I think that the United States should pull out all
of their interests in the Middle East and bring everything home. I will gladly
pay $5 a gallon for gas if we let all those Arab countries eat sand, no more
help, no more help to Turkey, no more help to France, to Germany, to Saudi
Arabia, anybody over there. Let them eat sand.
I WOULD LIKE to know why Boscov’s in Wilkes-Barre never advertises wigs
when they do sell them. I think it would be very nice because I have many
friends, we work, hectic schedules, and we wear wigs. That would be very nice
if they had a special flyer about wigs.
Editor’s note: OK. OK. Don’t wig out, eh? Sorry, just kidding. Couldn’t
resist.
I MIGHT BE old fashioned, but I think grandpa’s arthritis has a better
chance of probably predicting our next snowstorm then Doppler radar. What do
you think?
THE EDITOR’S NOTE in today’s paper stating a description of man dressed
like al-Qaida member with Mohammed across the front was way off base. The
editor stated the description could fit lots of upstanding everyday American
citizens. Bah. An understanding American citizen is my 20-year-old grandson in
Kuwait with the paratroopers, ready to fight for your freedom and my freedom.
Keep your editor notes to yourself, they all stink. People call to vent, not
to see your uncalled-for comments written. People who try to live a good life,
you put it down. We have rights, also.
WELL, NOW THAT we know who owns Laflin Road in Jenkins Township, I have a
question. I damaged my car on that road and my damage cost me $3,000 for
repairing my front end on my Mercedes. I have all the paper work, I have
pictures, statement from the tow truck operator, and my insurance company, all
notarized and witnesses that were there. Who should get my bill for the
damages? Does someone know where I can send my bill or take my bill?
THE PUBLIC SCHOOLS should seriously consider starting the school year on
Aug. 1st. This would give them 20 full school days, with emphasis on full
days. We’re tired of two-hour delays and early dismissals. The kids are
missing too many hours of important classes, and they are ready to return to
school in August.
