Stanley “Irish” Tuzinski, 80, of Pine Run Road, Laurel Run, died Sunday
at his residence.
Born May 1, 1922, in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of the late Joseph and Mary
(Grohowski) Tuzinski. He attended city schools. He served in the U.S. Army
during World War II in the European Theater, where he received the
European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, with one service star; the
Victory Medal; and the American Campaign Medal. He was self-employed in the
coal hauling business. He also worked as a custodian for St. Joseph’s Church,
Wilkes-Barre.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Gertrude Elick; brothers,
Joseph, Benjamin, Edward and John; and sister, Mary Maisano.
Surviving are his sons, Alan, at home; Francis, Brigantine, N.J.; Stanley
Jr., Laurel Run; daughter, Charlene Moss, Wilkes-Barre; seven grandchildren;
several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday from the Robert Bednarski
Funeral Home, 27 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with a funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. in
St. Joseph’s Church, with the Rev. James J. Alco officiating. Entombment will
be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township.
