John Mackachinas

John P. Mackachinas, 61, of Wilson Street, Dupont, died Monday at Geisinger
Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.
Born Dec. 21, 1941, in Exeter, he was a son of the late John and Anna
(Chepalonis) Mackachinas. He was a 1959 graduate of Exeter High School and
Wilkes University. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and was employed at Montage
Foods, Scranton. He was a member of St. Casimir’s Church, Pittston, and the
Emanon Country Club, Falls.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Kimberly.
Surviving are his wife, the former Mary Moran; son, Mark, Exeter; daughter,
Jennifer Cavalari, Pottstown; two grandchildren; brother, Stanley Mackachinas,
Exeter; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Friday from the Kizis-Lokuta Funeral
Home, 134 Church St., Pittston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m.
at St. Casimir’s Church. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
