Josephine Carpenter

Josephine Carpenter, 74, of Lincoln Street, Exeter, died Monday at
Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Jenkins Township, she was the daughter of the late Frank and
Antoinette (Pulman) Denardo Spitzman. She was a 1946 graduate of Jenkins
Township High School. She was employed by the California Flower Co., West
Pittston and was a member of St. Mark’s Church, Inkerman.
She was preceded in death by brothers, James and John Spitzman.
Surviving are her husband of 52 years, Elwood; daughters, Melody Nelson,
Wilmington, Del.; Bonnie Rosentel, Carverton; son, Guy, Dallas; seven
grandchildren; brother, Samuel, Binghamton, N.Y.; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Thursday from the Frank A. Gubbiotti
Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter, with a Mass of Christian Burial at
9:30 a.m. at St. Mark’s Church, Inkerman, Jenkins Township. Interment will be
in Memorial Shrine Cemetery, Carverton, Kingston Township.
