DALLAS – College Misericordia men’s basketball standout Willie Chandler was
named to the D3hoops.com Mid-Atlantic Region team on Tuesday for the second
consecutive season.
   
Chandler, a senior guard from Scranton, was third in the nation in scoring
with 26.3 points per game, finished second on the all-time NCAA Division III
career scoring list with 2,877 points and led the Pennsylvania Athletic
Conference in scoring for the fourth consecutive year. He was third in the PAC
with 8.9 rebounds per game and 2.4 steals per game.
    Chandler was the PAC Player of the year for an unprecedented fourth
consecutive year. He was a D3hoops.com all-American a year ago. This year’s
all-American team will be announced later this week.

PAC honors two Cougars
   
DALLAS TWP. – Misericordia’s Matt Carey was named the Pennsylvania Athletic
Conference Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week and Britney Haring made the PAC’s
weekly women’s lacrosse honor roll.
   
A freshman attacker, Carey had four goals and an assist in a 1-1 week for
the Cougars. Haring, also a freshman attacker, scored four goals and had an
assist in an 11-10 season-opening loss to Neumann.

Wyoming Seminary 7, Seton Catholic 0
   
KINGSTON – Wyoming Seminary lost only three games in its Northeast
Pennsylvania Boys Tennis Conference Southern Division season-opening victory
over Seton Catholic.
   
Seminary has not lost a conference match since 1994 and has not lost a
division match since 1988.
   
Wyoming Area 7, GAR 0
   
WEST PITTSTON – Ashley Callaio, Tim Fenner, Kyle Walsh and Brendan Andres
registered wins in singles and doubles for Wyoming Area.
   
Berwick 7, Pittston Area 0
   
BERWICK – John Allen, Adrian Zalonis, Travis Petty and Dan Hess all won in
singles and doubles for Berwick.
   
Wyoming Valley West 7, Lake-Lehman 0
   
KINGSTON – Steve Ubaldini and Ryan Savitz won in singles and doubles for
Wyoming Valley West.
