Red Barons tickets available
Individual game tickets for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Red Barons’ 2003
season will go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Saturday.
Tickets can be purchased in person at the Stadium Box Office, via phone by
calling 570-969-BALL or online at wwwl.redbarons.com.
The Red Barons will open the season at home April 3 at 7 p.m. against the
Ottawa Lynx. The Lynx will be making their debut as the Triple-A affiliate of
the Baltimore Orioles.
The 72-game home schedule will run through August 28 and feature 11
homestands against 13 different opponents.

COLLEGES
Nanticoke grad recognized
Greater Nanticoke Area High School graduate Amanda Hummel, a sophomore at
Hiram College in Cleveland, Ohio, was named a North Coast Athletic Conference
honorable mention all-star in women’s basketball.
Hummel averaged 10.2 points per game for Hiram and had a strong finish to
the season, scoring 22 points in two of her final three games. She was named
NCAC Player of the Week following the final week of the regular season.
Misericordia athletes honored
College Misericordia freshman Matt Carey was named Pennsylvania Athletic
Conference men’s lacrosse player of the week. Cougar freshman Britney Haring
was named to the women’s lacrosse honor roll.
Carey had four goals and an assist in a 1-1 week for Misericordia. Haring
had four goals and one assist in a season-opening loss.
