Elizabeth John

Elizabeth “Bette” M. John, 81, of Harveys Lake, died Tuesday at home.
Born Sept. 1, 1921, in Parsons, she was a daughter of the late Roy L. and
Elizabeth (Thomas) McNeil. She was a 1939 graduate of Kingston High School and
was a member of the Dallas United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by daughter, Elizabeth Snyder; sister, Anne M.
Brownlee; brother, Gomer T.
Surviving are her husband, Willard E.; daughters, Linda Dorrance, Dallas;
Sharon Strauser, Dallas; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers,
Paul J., Florida; Warren, Stroudsburg.
A memorial service will be at noon Friday from the Harold C. Snowdon
Funeral Home, 140 N. Main St., Shavertown, with the Rev. Dr. William D. Lewis
officiating. Interment will be private in Oaklawn Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of services Friday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice Community
Care, Kingston, or to Rural Health Corp. of Northeastern Pennsylvania
Endowment, Wilkes-Barre.
