Carl Rosencrance of West Pittston has announced his candidacy for
re-election to the West Pittston Borough Council.
   
A Republican, he is a graduate of West Pittston High School, King’s College
and the University of Scranton, where he earned a degree in counseling
education. Jerry Dunn of the Newtown section of Hanover Township is seeking
the Democratic nomination for Hanover Township commissioner.
   
He is running as part of the Democratic team of Team Taxpayer.
   
Dunn, a graduate of Hanover Area High School, attended Luzerne County
Community College. He is a social member of the Catholic War Veterans Post
274, the American Legion and the Ashley Area Trout Stocking Association. He
served as assistant coach of a Hanover Teeners Baseball team. Phil Latinski of
the Miners Mills section of Wilkes-Barre has announced his candidacy for
re-election to the City Council.
   
A Democrat and 12-year council veteran, he has held the positions of
chairman and vice chairman.
   
Latinski, 63, is a retired educator. He taught at GAR Memorial High School
and Coughlin High School, and retired in 1999 after serving 22 years as
principal of GAR High School.
   
He is a graduate of Coughlin High School, King’s College and the University
of Scranton, where he earned a master’s degree.
   
In 1991, he was named Outstanding Principal of the Year in Pennsylvania.
   
He is president of the Catholic Youth Center’s Athletic Council and a
member of the Parsons Lions Club, St. Conrad’s Young Men’s Society, Slovak
Citizens Club, YMCA of Wilkes-Barre and the Wilkes-Barre City Police Civil
Service Commission.
   
He is married and the father of two children. Anthony Denisco of West
Pittston has announced his candidacy for re-election as West Pittston borough
constable.
   
A Republican, he has held the position for six years.
   
A graduate of West Pittston High School, he is certified by the Lackawanna
Junior College constable training program.
   
He is a member of the Luzerne County Constables Association and
Pennsylvania State Constables Association Chapter 40.
   
Denisco is a life member of Goodwill Hose Co. and a member of the West
Pittston Auxiliary Police. He is Emergency Management Association coordinator
for West Pittston.
   
He is a member of Immaculate Conception Church.
   
Denisco is married and has two children and four grandchildren.
   

    He retired last year from the Wyoming Area School District, where he was a
guidance counselor, teacher and assistant principal.
   
Rosencrance was appointed to council in June 1985 to fill the seat vacated
by the death of his father, Carl Rosencrance Sr. He was elected to fill the
remaining term and re-elected in 1987, 1991, 1995 and 1999 to four-year terms.
   
He is president of borough council.
   
He is a lifetime member of West Pittston Hose Co. No. 1, a member and past
officer of West Pittston Moose Lodge No. 1207 and a former West Pittston
Little League coach.
   
He also is a member of Valley Lodge No. 499, Keystone Consistory, Valley of
Scranton, and Irem Temple, where is a member of the Irem Temple Provost Guard.
   
He is a member of Immaculate Conception Church, West Pittston. He is
married and the father of two children.
