WHY THE FRENCH? The French never killed Americans, but the Italians and the
Germans did. Remember World War I and World War II? The French were our allies
in the Revolutionary War; without the French we might have lost to the
British. They were our allies in both World Wars. Not that I love the French,
but maybe they have a right to their opinion. I think we should boycott
Italian wines and German beers.
   
NOBODY WANTS TO fight a war when we’re not being attacked, OK? The Vietnam
War was won and it’s a thankless job to go in and clean up somebody else’s
mess. And not one American life is worth the whole of Saddam’s Iraq, not one.
    I’M ALSO A Korean veteran and a question for these warmongers: While we
were in Korea we left 58,000 young men there, a lot of my comrades and
buddies, 58,000, why? Can anyone give me one good reason why? To stop
communism? It’s still there. Stop a nuclear bomb or atomic bomb? It’s still
there. To protect South Korea? They hate us. The South Koreans hate us. We
should have left them be taken by North Korea. To stop China? China got bigger
and stronger. Can anyone give me one good reason why we were in Korea and
losing 58,000 young kids?
   
THIS LAWSUIT IN Shickshinny that’s been dragging on among the council
members who transferred $30,000 in HUD money to the fire company. Could your
paper find out how much taxpayer money has been spent on legal fees for this
so far and when we might expect a conclusion because this feud within council
is counterproductive to the community?
   
THE LEAD SINGER of the Dixie Chicks, for what she said about the president,
that she’s ashamed that he’s from Texas, that’s a pretty brash thing to say
when you have a Top 10 single going on right now in the United States. You
won’t catch me or any of my friends listening to any of her songs anymore. And
another thing, if they don’t like it here, let them stay over in London.
   
TO THE WOMAN who thinks we need Martha Stewart to help decorate our houses,
I’m a woman, I have taste, I have quality decorating ideas, I don’t need
Martha Stewart. She is no better than anyone else who has tried to screw up
the system, so in my opinion you should stop buying her products and let her
get what is due her.
   
THIS IS TO the psychology student from Marywood and to approximately
100,000 other people in this area who have no idea how teachers are trained.
I’m a local teacher whose master’s degree included courses in quantum
mechanics, molecular orbital theory, aspects of differential equations as
applied to chemistry and physics, and so on. To you at Marywood, I would
specifically challenge you to go and take my master’s program but as a
teacher, I have too much class for that.
   
JUDGES MAKE MISTAKES too. I see where Olszewski had another ruling
overturned by a higher court. I wonder will President Judge Conahan ream him
out and belittle him for being poorly prepared, and will this be done in
public or in private?
   
THIS WILL REALLY set the record straight. I’m calling in response to SAYSO
regarding the Nuangola police chief as they stated a patrolman. Our officer is
also our chief, captain, detective, lieutenant and patrolman, etc. It is a
one-man department, so who will take responsibility for the police matters and
the administration if he wasn’t here? He does more than you think. And as far
as the roster, he makes the scheduling himself, think again, because him and
the mayor do it together.
