Carmella Bednarz

Carmella Bednarz, 79, of Hometown, died Wednesday at St. Luke’s Miners
Memorial Hospital, Coaldale.
Born in Hazleton, she was a daughter of the late Francesco and Angeline
(Tabino) Ruggiero. She was employed in an aircraft factory, Fleetwood, and at
J.E. Morgan Knitting Mills Inc., Hometown. She and her husband owned and
operated Eddie’s Diner, Hometown. She was a member of St. Jerome’s Church,
Tamaqua.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Anthony, Rocco, Frank Jr. Michael,
Joseph and Angelo; and sisters, Anna Tabino, Rose Malt, Angeline Ruggiero and
Grace Dovci.
Surviving are her husband, Edward Sr.; daughter, Marilyn Wolfe, McAdoo;
sons, Edward Jr., Hazleton; William, Hometown; nine grandchildren; five
great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Marszalek, McAdoo; Tina Semenkow, Camp
Hill.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday from St. Jerome’s
Church, Tamaqua. Interment will be in Sky View Memorial Park, Hometown.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Lamar Christ Funeral
Home, Hometown.
