Wyoming Seminary Upper School students, faculty and staff contributed to
several fund-raisers to collect money for the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
Beginning in late August, students sold blue paper waves and Katrina relief
rubber bracelets and held a dress-down day. The activities raised $5,030.55.
An additional $312 was received in bracelet sales after the fund-raisers
ended. The money was given to the Wyoming Valley chapter of the American Red
Cross for its flood-relief efforts. Presenting the money, from left, are Mary
Therese Pitcavage, the Wyoming Seminary director of community service;
community service group members senior Laura Rose Musheno and senior Alexandra
Beaupre, both of Clarks Summit, junior Megan Messersmith of Dallas and senior
Rachelle Zafrany, Wilkes-Barre; and Barbara Wilson, financial development
office, Wyoming Valley chapter of the American Red Cross.
