The second annual Reggae for Robert was even better than the first, according to Ron and Brenda D’Eliseo, founders of The Earthly Angels Foundation, which offers financial support for projects related to autism. As Ron D’Eliseo pointed out in his remarks, the event is named after their son Robert, who has autism, but Robert represents all children with autism and the Earthly Angels support all children with autism.
Reggae for Robert is a dinner-dance for which attendees are invited to don “island attire” and enjoy a relaxing summer evening of drinking, dining and dancing. The inaugural event, held last August, was a huge success and the D’Eliseos agreed the second one topped it. Plans are already underway for next August’s affair.
Ed Ackerman served as toastmaster for the brief program and Ron D’Eliseo addressed the crowd and thanked them for coming. Frank Bartoli, of the Greater Pittston YMCA, and Lori Cimino, of College Misericordia, offered remarks as recipients of grants from The Earthly Angels. Both institutions provide services for children with autism.
Father Greg Finn asked the invocation.
Music was provided by “Them again” featuring Pittston’s own Charlie Infantino.
