Fresh off his Potentate win on Sunday, Jim Hoover of Irem Temple Country Club was back at it again on Monday playing in the Pennsylvania Senior Amateur Championships at Huntsville Golf Club. Hoover shot a 76 on Monday and is in a tie for 23rd. The leader after the first day of action is Saucon Valley Country Club’s Thomas A. Bartolacci Jr., who carded a 2-under 70. Huntsville’s Sam W. Lewis is currently tied for second two shots off the lead, after shooting an even par on Monday. Also participating in the tournament from the area and within 10 strokes of the lead listed with their scores are: William Lawler (73), Anthony Kondracki (74), Ronald Pieczynski (75), George Elias (77), Gregory Douds (78), Jeff Ranck (79), Ed Gregorczyk (79), Len Coleman (80) and Al Flora (80). The Super Senior Amateur Championship is also being held at the course with St. David’s Golf Club’s John Y. Howson Jr. leading after the first round after shooting 2-under-par 70. Ed Hennigan, a member at Fox Hill Country Club, is tied for fifth after shooting 77 on Monday. The two-day tournament resumes today at the golf course in Lehman Township at 7:30 a.m., with the final time set for 1:55 p.m.
