Cecelia Grycewicz (Genella) Gialanella, 87, of Avoca, passed away Sunday, August 2, at Moses Taylor Hospital, Scranton.
She was born February 18, 1922, in Nanticoke. Cecelia attended Nanticoke schools. Cecelia and her husband, Frank, are the owners and operators of Modern Shoe Repair, Avoca.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, John and Tony Grycewicz; and sisters Violet Jacobs and Frances Sobelsky.
In addition to her husband, Frank, she is survived by her son, Ralph, and his wife, Judy, of Drums; her daughter, Frances, and her husband, Edward Ciampi, of Old Forge; grandchildren Christina and her husband, Frank Cortazzo; Daniele and husband John Conklin; Nichole Genella; and Elisha and husband Ken Corch; great-grandchildren Garrett Genella, Chase Hector, Samantha Mankovich and Patrick Mankovich. Cecelia is also survived by her great-great-grandchild, Aiden; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 5, at 7 p.m. at Kiesinger Funeral Services, 255 McAlpine St., Duryea. Father Michael Kloton, of Ss. Peter and Paul Church, Plains, will officiate. Friends may call Wednesday, August 5, from 4 p.m. until time of service.
