Mr. Charles F. Barchok Sr., 95, a lifelong resident of Wilkes-Barre Township, passed into Eternal Life Sunday morning in Saint Therese Residence, Wilkes-Barre.
Born July 7, 1914, in Wilkes-Barre Township, he was a son of the late Leo and Mary (Starr) Barchok. He was educated in the Wilkes-Barre Township schools.
Mr. Barchok was a member of Saint John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, Wilkes-Barre Township.
Until his retirement, he was employed by the Tobyhanna Army Depot for more than 20 years as a leatherworker. He previously was employed locally in the shoe repair business.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, the former Rose Zonko, who passed April 22, 1977; by a brother, Donald Barchok; and by a sister, Helen Barchok.
Surviving are his children and their spouses, Charles F. and Terry Barchok Jr., of Burke, Va.; Rose Ann Nallon and her husband, Brian, of Nuangola; grandchildren including Joanne Espinoza, Mary Papa, Jennifer Gammache, Michael Barchok, Brian Nallon II and Eric Nallon; great-grandchildren Kyle and Brandon Espinoza, and Gracie and Isabel Nallon; a brother, Joseph Barchok, of Wilkes-Barre; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Barchok will be conducted 9 a.m. Wednesday with Panachida from the John V. Morris-Charles J. Leagus Funeral Home, 281 E. Northampton St., Wilkes-Barre Heights, followed by Divine Liturgy at 9:30 a.m. in Saint John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church with the Reverend Mykhaylo Prodanets, pastor, officiating.
Interment will follow in Holy Assumption of Saint Mary Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Lake Street, Dallas.
Friends may call today, from 5 to 8 p.m. There will be a Parastas service conducted today at 7 p.m. at the funeral home, with Father Prodanets officiating.
