Sam Lewis hits out of the rough onto the green while competing in the Pennsylvania Senior Amateur Championships at Huntsville Golf Club in Dallas. Lewis, a member at Huntsville, finished the two-day tournament tied for sixth with a score of 3-over 147, six strokes behind Dave DeNazza from Greensburg Country Club, the winner of the event. Lewis was the best finisher of the local golfers participating in the event. Irem Temple Country Club’s Jim Hoover finished in a tie for 14th at 6-over, while Len Coleman fired 151 and Ron Pieczynski and William Lawler carded 152s and Tony Kondracki shot 153. The Super Senior Amateur Championship was also held at the course with Jay Y. Howson Jr. winning with a score of 149. Veteran local golfer Ed Hennigan finished second just two strokes behind.
