Mrs. Geraldine A. (Jean) Butts, 86, formerly of Rutter Avenue, Kingston, died on Sunday at Riverstreet Manor, Wilkes-Barre, where she had been a guest.
She was born in Wilkes-Barre, a daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Simmonson Evans. She graduated from the Kingston High School.
Jean had resided on Rutter Avenue, Kingston, for many years. She was formerly employed by PA Spring Brook Water Company and Fowler, Dick and Walker, the Boston Store.
She was a member of the Church of Christ Uniting, Kingston.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred T. Butts, in 1978, who was a buyer for Fowler, Dick and Walker, the Boston Store for many years; her brothers, Thomas O. Evans Jr. and John (Jack) Evans.
Surviving are her niece Judith L. Sabatino, and her husband, Donald, Wilkes-Barre; her nephew Edward B. Jacobs, and his wife, Janet, Wilkes-Barre; many other nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at the convenience of the family at the Forty Fort Cemetery, Forty Fort, with the Rev. Dr. James Harring, officiating. The interment will follow.
