Raymond Biscontini Jr., 67, of Old Forge, died Monday morning, August 31, 2009, in the VNA Hospice Unit at Community Medical Center, Scranton, following a brief stay.
Born and raised in Old Forge, he was a son of the late Raymond and Ann E. Stallone Biscontini. He received his education at the Scranton State School for the Deaf and the Philadelphia School for the Deaf. He was of the Roman Catholic faith.
Raymond’s family wishes to gratefully acknowledge Dr. Christian Adonizio and Dr. Armando Sallavanti and their staffs for their excellent care and concern for Ray’s well-being. The same is extended to VNA Hospice of Lackawanna County for their kindness during Ray’s recent illness.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Suzanne Mattei; and a brother-in-law, Robert Krappa, who died on August 14.
Surviving are two sisters, Kathryn Krappa, of Old Forge, and Beverly McNulty and husband Joseph, of Duryea; several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

The funeral will begin Thursday at 9 a.m. from the Victor M. Ferri Funeral Home, 522 Fallon St., Old Forge, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church, 125 Stephenson St., Duryea, to be celebrated by the Rev. Charles W. Rokosz, pastor. Interment and committal rites will follow in Old Forge Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday, from 5 to 7 p.m.
