George D. Schultz, Exeter, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2009.
He was a son of the late George H. Schultz and Helen Prosachik Schultz, formerly of Duryea.
George was a graduate of Pittston High School, Class of 1958. He was a 20-year veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves from 1959 to 1979, and attained the rank of Sergeant First Class.
During that time, he was a member of the 300th Field Hospital and held the position of Junior Vice Commander. He was also a member of the Plains American Legion Post 558.
George became semi-retired in 2003, after the closure of the Leslie Fay Distribution Warehouse in Laflin.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, the former Rosalie Lubinosky, Exeter; his son, Benjamin Schultz, Exeter; sister-in-law, Amelia; brother-in-law, Jess Tucker, Oak Ridge, Tenn.; sisters, Grace Mattus, New Jersey, Elizabeth “Betty” Galonas, Jackson Heights, N.Y., Helen Mislan and Helen Borini, Bound Brook, N.J.; several nieces and nephews.

The
funeral will be held on Friday at 9 a.m. from the Kizis-Lokuta Funeral Home, 134 Church St., Pittston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Church, Exeter.
Interment will be in the Lithuanian Independent Cemetery, West Wyoming. Friends may call on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
