TORRY HOLT

TORRY HOLT

Last week, I brought you the first nine rounds of one of my “expert” drafts. Sometimes keeping tabs on expert leagues are a useful tool for all owners, because it not only gives some insight on what experts think, but it also lets everyone know the average draft position of each player.
Here is how rounds 10-18 went:

ROUND 10

1. Matt Hasselbeck, The Huddle
2. Ahmad Bradshaw, Sports Grumblings
3. Jerious Norwood, Sports Weekly
4. Dustin Keller, Footballguys
5. Devin Hester, Fantasy Guru
6. Shonn Greene, Fantasy Insights
7. Domenik Hixon, Rotoexperts
8. Torry Holt, Fantasyfootball.com1
9. Jeremy Shockey, KFFL
10. Matt Ryan, Rotoworld

Let’s be real. This Torry Holt is not the Torry Holt that won the Super Bowl with the Rams. This isn’t even the Torry Holt that played 2-3 years ago. But he starts for the Jaguars, so he is worth a pick here.

ROUND 11

1. Davone Bess, Rotoworld
2. Derrick Mason, KFFL
3. Pittsburgh defense, Fantasyfootball.com
4. Brett Favre, Rotoexperts
5. Ted Ginn Jr., Fantasy Insights
6. Josh Morgan, Fantasy Guru
7. Earnest Graham, Footballguys
8. Carson Palmer, Sports Weekly
9. Jamal Lewis, Sports Grumblings
10. Steve Breaston, The Huddle

I was the first one to take the plunge in the defensive pool when I drafted the Steelers. They have been ranked No. 1 all offseason, making them a nice value pick this late.

ROUND 12

1. Jay Cutler, The Huddle
2. Patrick Crayton, Sports Grumblings
3. Vernon Davis, Sports Weekly
4. Donnie Avery, Footballguys
5. Darren Sproles, Fantasy Guru
6. Eli Manning, Fantasy Insights
7. Cowboys defense, Rotoexperts
8. LeSean McCoy, Fantasyfootball.com
9. Julius Jones, KFFL
10. Tim Hightower, Rotoworld

In 12-14 owner leagues, I have seen owners take McCoy as a stand-alone fantasy option. While I like his upside, he likely won’t get that much playing time as long as Westbrook can stay healthy. But he is Westbrook’s must-have handcuff.

ROUND 13

1. Earl Bennett, Rotoworld
2. Ben Roethlisberger, KFFL
3. Trent Edwards, Fantasyfootball.com
4. Anthony Fasano, Rotoexperts
5. Nate Washington, Fantasy Insights
6. Michael Bush, Fantasy Guru
7. Jamaal Charles, Footballguys
8. Ricky Williams, Sports Weekly
9. Matt Cassell, Sports Grumblings
10. Willis McGahee, The Huddle

Edwards’ fantasy value went up after Terrell Owens landed in Buffalo, but does Edwards have the mental state to deal with the diva?

ROUND 14

1. Visanthe Shiancoe, The Huddle
2. Bo Scaife, Sports Grumblings
3. Vikings defense, Sports Weekly
4. Brent Celek, Footballguys
5. Matt Stafford, Fantasy Guru
6. Stephen Gostkowski, Fantasy Insights
7. Kevin Curtis, Rotoexperts
8. Miles Austin, Fantasyfootball.com
9. Percy Harvin, KFFL
10. Rashard Mendenhall, Rotoworld

At the time, Austin was a sleeper who was climbing up the ranks. But with word that he is slipping down the depth chart, this pick may backfire.

ROUND 15

1. Robert Meachem, Rotoworld
2. Giants defense, KFFL
3. Rob Bironas, Fantasyfootball.com
4. Rashad Jennings, Rotoexperts
5. Ravens defense, Fantasy Insights
6. Mike Walker, Fantasy Guru
7. David Garrard, Footballguys
8. Nate Burleson, Sports Weekly
9. Mason Crosby, Sports Grumbling
10. Eagles defense, The Huddle

A kicker is a kicker. Bironas is one of the best. But you can wait even later for one of value.

ROUND 16

1. Laurent Robinson, The Huddle
2. Titans defense, Sports Grumblings
3. Patriots defense, Sports Weekly
4. Chargers defense, Footballguys
5. Jets defense, Fantasy Guru
6. Ryan Longwell, Fantasy Insights
7. Chris Chambers, Rotoexperts
8. Justin Gage, Fantasyfootball.com
9. Laurence Maroney, KFFL
10. Heath Miller, Rotoworld

I’m not expecting much out of Gage. The Titans just don’t pass the ball that much. But as a starter, he could be a decent bye-week option.

ROUND 17

1. Packers defense, Rotoworld
2. Fred Taylor, KFFL
3. Jermichael Finley, Fantasyfootball.com
4. Peyton Hillis, Rotoexperts
5. Kevin Faulk, Fantasy Insights
6. Kevin Boss, Fantasy Guru
7. Muhsin Muhammad, Footballguys
8. David Akers, Sports Weekly
9. Michael Crabtree, Sports Grumblings
10. Nate Kaeding, The Huddle

For those who don’t know yet, Finley is tearing it up in training camp and has looked solid in the preseason. He isn’t a great blocker, but could be worth a flyer in the passing game.

ROUND 18

1. Glen Coffee, The Huddle
2. Joe Flacco, Sports Grumblings
3. Robbie Gould, Sports Weekly
4. Lawrence Tynes, Footballguys
5. Kris Brown, Fantasy Guru
6. Dolphins defense, Fantasy Insights
7. Jason Elam, Rotoexperts
8. Bernard Scott, Fantasyfootball.com
9. John Kasay, KFFL
10. John Carney, Rotoworld

This is another guy I like a lot. Scott is currently in the lead for the backup spot and could see action soon if it turns out starter Cedric Benson’s 2008 was a mirage.

So here is how my Week One Lineup will likely play out: QB: Schaub, RB: Forte, RB: Westbrook, RB: Grant, WR: Smith, WR: Holmes, WR: Jackson, TE: Daniels, K: Bironas, D: Steelers.
