Luzerne County Soccer Club is having dome soccer sign-ups today through Saturday. Any soccer players interested have until Saturday to sign up. For info, call Rick at 814-7403.

Newport Biddy Basketball will hold sign-ups from 6-8 p.m. on Sept. 22, Sept. 23 and Sept. 29 and from 5-7 p.m. on Sept. 26 at the K.M. Smith Elementary School. Boys and girls ages 6-12 are eligible.

Pennsylvania Fusion U-16 girls softball travel team will conduct tryouts for the 2009-10 tournament season. They will be held at Kirby Park on at 5 p.m. on Sept. 13. All current players as well as new players are encouraged to attend. Any questions please call Tom at 574-5354 or Dave at 735-2951.

A punt, pass and
kick contest will be held by the Wilkes-Barre Family YMCA in conjunction with Wilkes University and the Philadelphia Eagles on Sept. 12 at Wilkes’ Ralston Field in Edwardsville. This free competition is open to boys and girls ages 8-15. Participation for this event also includes tickets for the participant and their family to the Wilkes football game against Montclair State which will take place following the competition. Pennsylvania will hold a breakfast, its first event, at 8 a.m. on Sept. 18 at Wilkes University’s Student Union. The cost of the event is $5 per person, which covers the program and a breakfast buffet. The group is sponsored by the Wilkes-Barre Family YMCA in conjunction with Wilkes University and Sodexo Food Services. The Moosic Mets 12th Annual Fall Classic Wood Bat Tournament will take place this weekend. Prospect teams from various areas of the East Coast will compete for the title. The tournament games will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at Connell Park, Bataglia-Cawley, Marywood University and Scranton High School fields. The Wyoming Area Adult Recreation Program will begin Sept. 14. Aerobics and Swimming will be held from 7-9 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday at the high school. Days may vary due to school activities. Basketball will run from 7-9 p.m on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday at the Tenth Street Elementary School. Activity cost is $2 per session.
