Kochuba

Matthew Kochuba, a 2005 graduate of Crestwood High School, has been accepted at Temple University School of Medicine. He graduated from Elizabethtown College with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. While at the college, Kochuba was named to the Dean’s List for seven semesters. He was inducted into the Tri Beta Honor Society, a biological science organization. He was a peer tutor in genetics and organic chemistry and conducted genetic research. Kochuba was also involved in several volunteer and community service projects. He shadowed doctors in Hershey, Elizabethtown, Kingston, and his grandfather in Williamsport. Kochuba is the son Leonard and Deborah Kochuba, Mountain Top, and the grandson of Dr. and Mrs. Joseph Campana, Williamsport; Leonard and Ann Kochuba, Easton; and the late Frank and Betty Cortez. He has a brother, Andrew, a third-year student at Georgetown University School of Medicine, and a sister, Rachel, a freshman at York College of Pennsylvania.

Lauren Spaciano, Harveys Lake, has been awarded a $1,650 scholarship by the Eastern Pennsylvania Water Pollution Control Operators Association Inc. Spaciano, a 2006 graduate of Lake-Lehman High School, is enrolled at Temple University, Philadelphia, where she is pursuing a degree in biology. The Eastern Pennsylvania Water Pollution Control Operators Association Inc. is a nonprofit, educational organization with a mission of education and training to advance the professionalism of wastewater operation personnel which will enhance the waters of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
