WILLIAMSPORT — Paul Brace rushed for only 19 yards all night, but he covered the most important 3 yards of the game Friday night.
Brace’s 3-yard touchdown run in overtime lifted Dallas to a 21-14 victory over Williamsport in a Wyoming Valley Conference inter-divisional football game Friday night.
Dallas led 14-6 heading into the fourth quarter, but Nahshon Braggs scored on a 34-yard run with 4:07 left in regulation to cut the lead to 14-12. Drae Lewis, who was 0-for-5 passing on the night, then completed a two-point conversion pass to tie the game.
The Mountaineers (1-0) got on the board first when junior quarterback Adam Goeringer scored on a 6-yard run with 10:32 left in the second quarter and Dallas led 7-0.
Williamsport answered just over a minute later when Joseph Nolan broke away on a 42-yard touchdown run. The Millionaires couldn’t convert the extra point, however, and trailed 7-6.
Goeringer scored again late in the third period on a 4-yard run to put the Mountaineers up 14-6.
Goeringer finished the night with 34 yards rushing while completing nine of 15 passes for 108 yards without an interception.
Brace was Goeringer’s most popular target, pulling in four passes for 57 yards.
Williamsport was led by Braggs with 98 yards rushing.
