Luzerne County Soccer Club is forming dome soccer teams that begin play in November. Signups end today. All players interested or for more information, call coach Lugiano at 814-7403.
Mountain Top Area Volleyball League will hold registration and preseason practice on Sept. 14 and 21 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Rice Elementary School. The season will begin Sept. 28 and end June 7, 2010. Games will be held on Monday nights from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. The league is open to men and women ages 19 and over. Lehman Golf Club will have a bus trip to Whitetail Golf Club on Sept. 23. Cost is $55 per person and includes gree fees with cart, breakfast before departure and prizes. The bus will leave from Lehman Golf Club at 7 a.m. and return approximately 6 p.m. For more information, call the golf shop at 675-1686.
Nanticoke Hackers will play their season championship at BlueRidge Trail on Sept. 13. All members must register by calling 735-6206 by Wednesday.
Nona Libenson Memorial Parkinson’s Run/Walk will take place on Sept. 13 at 10:30 a.m. at the JCC Day Camp near Harveys Lake. Anyone interested in registering can go to NEPARunner.com or wbjcc.org. Wyoming Valley Youth Soccer Association is sponsoring a soccer festival on Sept. 12 and 13, beginning at 10 a.m., for players ages 6 through 10. Food and refreshments will be available for purchase. There will be a special appearance by Tux, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins mascot on Sept. 12.
