Marguerite Bromfield, 97, of North Maple Avenue, Kingston, died on Thursday at the Hospice Care of the VNA Unit, Wilkes-Barre.
She was born in Plymouth, June 23, 1912, a daughter of the late Enoch C. and Annie (Mitchell) Pearson. She graduated from Kingston High School and resided in Kingston her entire life.
She was employed by Wilkes-Barre Deposit and Saving Bank, until her marriage.
Marguerite was an active and one of the oldest members of Church of Christ Uniting, Kingston, being a member for 82 years. She served as a treasurer at the church for 35 years. She was a member of the Women’s Fellowship and the Adult Bible Class.
She held many offices and served many task forces at the church.
Marguerite served as the president of the Wyoming Valley Women’s Club and was a member of Wilkes-Barre Women of Kiwanis.
She was also a member of the Salvation Army Auxiliary and the former Nesbitt Memorial Hospital Auxiliary for over 40 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest W. Bromfield, March 17, 1991; and a son, Clark; sister, Loretta Evans.
Surviving are a son, Jay Bromfield, Philadelphia; a niece and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Church of Christ Uniting, Market and Sprague avenues, Kingston, with her pastors, the Rev. Dr. Carol Ann Fleming, and the Rev. Dr. James L. Harring, officiating. The interment will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hugh B. Hughes & Son Funeral Home Inc., 1044 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort.
