Regina “Jean” Kelly, 84, of Laflin, passed away on Thursday at the Inpatient Unit of Hospice Community Care, Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Larksville, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary (Heffernan) McHugh.
She was a graduate of Larksville High School and was employed by the College Misericordia Alumni Office of Dallas and for St. Maria Goretti Church, Laflin, from 1975 until her retirement in 1989.
She was a member of St. Maria Goretti Church, St. Ignatius Bowling League and St. Ignatius Catholic Daughters of Kingston. Jean also volunteered at Catherine McAuley House of Plymouth and St. Vincent de Paul Kitchen of Wilkes-Barre.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William F. Kelly Jr., on Jan. 29, 2005; sisters, Rita Allman and Ann Bucikowski; brothers, John and Edward McHugh.
Surviving are her daughters, Colleen Benson and her husband, Thomas, Kingston, and Jeanne Novis and her husband, Michael, Montclair, Va.; grandchildren, Kelly Benson Klecha, Katie Benson, Joseph Drugan III, Kaelie Drugan, Gregory Novis, Matthew Novis; sisters, Margaret Sarf, Laflin, and Patricia Keller, Vienna, Va; several nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family would like to thank the Angels at Hospice Community Care and the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital Staff for their kindness and care of Jean.

Funeral will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the Corcoran Funeral Home, 20 S. Main St., Plains Township, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Maria Goretti Church, Laflin. Interment will be in St. Vincent’s Cemetery, Larksville. Friends may call Monday, from 4 to 7 p.m.
