Reece Ayers of Tunkhannock placed first during a Wyoming Valley Conference cross country cluster meet Wednesday afternoon. Ayers finishing 54 seconds ahead of his nearest competitor, Chris Tombasci of Hazleton Area.
Tunkhannock finished with six of the top 15 runners. The Tigers defeated Hanover Area, 15-40, and Nanticoke Area, 15-40, but lost to Hazleton Area, 26-29.
Hazleton Area finished the meet undefeated, posting a 15-40 win against Lake-Lehman and 15-40 victory over Meyers.
In other scores, Hanover Area beat Meyers, 15-40; Lake-Lehman defeated Nanticoke, 20-39;and Meyers beat Nanticoke, 15-50.

GIRLS
Holy Redeemer finishes 3-0
Marissa Drako, Rachel Savinski and Mary Frank finished first, second and third, respectively, for Holy Redeemer as the Royals swept their way to a win in a cluster meet. Holy Redeemer won by scores of 15-50 over Wyoming Valley West, 23-32 over Berwick, and 15-50 over Northwest.
Wyoming Seminary won two out of three thanks to Pooja Patel and Gia Queen. Seminary won by scores of 15-50 over Wyoming Valley West and 28-29 over Northwest.
Berwick was victorious twice in the meet behind the running of Alex Bull and Nicole Montecalvo. The Bulldogs beat Wyoming Seminary 18-44 and Coughlin 15-50.

Hazleton Area sweeps
Hazleton Area’s Alli Petsuck out paced her competition as she placed first with a time of 20:50. Her team finished 1-2 defeating Meyers 15-50 but losing to Tunkhannock 21-38 and Lake-Lehman 21-35.
Hanover Area finished with an undefeated mark of 3-0. The Hawkeyes beat Lake-Lehman 24-31, Tunkhannock 27-38, and Meyers 15-50.
In the other meet, Lake-Lehman beat Nanticoke Area, 15-50,
