WILKES-BARRE – A bookkeeper charged with embezzling more than $100,000 from an organization that helps people suffering from cerebral palsy waived her right to a preliminary hearing in Wilkes-Barre Central Court on Wednesday.
Ann Patricia Hudanick, 58, of Matson Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, waived a single count of theft to Luzerne County Court.
Hudanick worked as a bookkeeper for Creating Unlimited Possibilities, formerly known as United Cerebral Palsy of Luzerne County, located on Simpson Street in Wilkes-Barre.
According to the criminal complaint: Hudanick admitted to police in December that she stole money by accessing a restricted account held at Choice One Credit Union. She claimed to have withdrawn $300 to $1,000 at a time to support an addiction to bingo.
The charges were filed after a forensic audit, which determined $100,000 to $120,000 was missing.
