Allied Services Rehab Hospital will present “Minimizing Injuries in Basketball Officials” AT 6 p.m. Oct. 19 at the Allied Services Community Room, 475 Morgan Highway, Scranton. The program is free to all registered PIAA sports officials. Topics covered will include common injuries sustained by officials, benefits of a fitness program, preseason training, and proper warm-up techniques. The seminar will be presented by Stacey Cox, who is a registered PIAA sports official; Scott Seibert, fitness specialist; and Theresa Craig, exercise physiologist. Hanover Area Fusion 6 Band Parents will hold a meeting at 7 p.m. Oct. 6 in the Hanover Area Jr./Sr. High School band room. Parents are needed and encouraged to attend.
The Stanley Cooper Sr. Chapter of the Trout Unlimited will host chairman of the board for FUDR Dan Plummer at its Oct. 13 meeting, which will be held 7:30 p.m. at VFW Anthracite Post 283, 757 Wyoming Ave., Kingston. Plummer will present a video on the current impairment of two Upper Delaware spawning tributaries, Cadosia Creek and Sands Creek, and discuss the project to restore them to health. The restoration of these streams are a project of your Stanley Cooper Trout Unlimited Chapter in conjunction with FUDR and others. More information can be found at www.sctu.org.

The Kingston Recreation Center will accept registrations for youth indoor soccer through Nov. 1. Age groups are 4 through 6; 7 through 9; and 10 through 12. Cost is $35 for members and $45 for non-members. The cost for children of coaches is $15. Register at the front desk during regular office hours. For more information, call 287-1106.

Bowlers are needed for a mixed league at Modern Lanes in Exeter. No experience necessary. The league bowls at 6:30 on Friday nights. Full teams are welcome.
Coughlin Girls Field Hockey will host a night out from 8-10 p.m. Saturday at Dukey’s Restaurant, Wilkes-Barre. There will be a 50/50 and raffles for gift baskets and gift cards.
The Dallas Mountaineers Aquatic Club will begin a free two-week trial for all new swimmers, beginning Oct. 5 at 6 p.m. at the Dallas Middle School pool. The club is open to experienced and novice swimmers ages 5 to 14. There are no residency requirements. All returning swimmers may report Oct. 119. For more information, go to dmac-swimming.org.
A dodgeball tournament will be held on Nov. 1 at Camp Orchard Hill in Dallas with games starting at 2 p.m. Teams consist of 6-10 players and the registration fee is $50 a team. The tournament will be a double-elimination, best-of-five games with NADA rules. There will be age brackets for 10- to 15-year-olds and 16-year-olds and up. Team registrations are due by Oct. 28.
