The Earthly Angels Autism Fund of The Luzerne Foundation is sponsoring the “Do It For The Kids” Walk-A-Thon and Fun Day to benefit Wyoming Valley Children’s Association. The 18th annual walk will be held on Saturday, April 17, starting at 10 a.m. at the Children’s Association, 1133 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort. Registration begins at 9 a.m. The event will include a 5K (3.1 mile) walk, children’s activities, musical entertainment, a bake sale and more.
All proceeds from the event will be used by Wyoming Valley Children’s Association to provide physical, occupational and speech therapy to local children who have disabilities and preschool education children of all abilities. Dawn Gaudino, walk-a-thon chairperson, announced that all adult walkers are asked to obtain a minimum of $25 in pledges or pay an entrance fee of $25. Children and students can register for the reduced price of $15. Walkers can also collect pledges online by visiting firstgiving.com/wvca.
All registered walkers will receive a tee shirt and be entered in a prize drawing. The top three fund raisers will receive prizes and the top team will be recognized.
